Volunteers help us get through at MCHS! Whether you come in to help clean, walk dogs or simply just love on the cats, it's a huge help!

We do require a volunteer application filled out before you start.

We ask that you be 14 years of age or older if you come without a parent or guardian.

We use volunteers for outside Pet Adoption events, fundraising events and transportation.

Come and spend your time with a shelter pet, you won't be let down!

The Madison County Humane Society has sustained as a private no-kill animal rescue and shelter in Anderson, Indiana since 1973.

Madison County Humane Society is a 501(c)(3), no-kill cat and dog receiving shelter funded by donations, fund-raising efforts & nominal fees. We receive no taxpayer monies. We shelter more than 100-115 homeless animals every day and often have some in foster care.
