Our Mission

To help homeless cats and dogs find loving forever homes, help lost pets find their owners, to promote responsible pet ownership, and to advocate humane treatment of all animals

Founded in 1973

The Madison County Humane Society has sustained as the ONLY no-kill shelter in Anderson, Indiana.

Madison County Humane Society is a 501(c)(3), no-kill cat and dog receiving shelter funded by donations, fund-raising efforts & nominal fees. We receive no taxpayer monies. As the ONLY no-kill shelter in Anderson, Indiana, we shelter more than 100-115 homeless animals every day and often have some in foster care.

In 2017 we took in 500 animals and adopted out 460 animals. Our operating cost was $350,000 that solely came from donations!
